The cutest and easiest family Halloween costumes to do with a baby

I’ve been excited for our first family Halloween since I was pregnant with Charlie. There may not be Halloween parties or much Trick-or-Treating this year, but no one can stop me from dressing this child up in adorable costumes all through October! As parents, we have missed out on experiencing a ton of things with our kids this year, but getting dressed up and taking some cute pictures doesn’t have to be one of them. You could even surprise the grandparents or friends with a socially distant visit in your costumes, which is sure to put a smile on their face.

I’ve gathered together some adorable and easy family costumes. Some are a 1-click purchase and some are a little more DIY, but all of them are simple to put together. If you end up using one of these, please tag me on your Instagram so I can see the final product!

1. Family Fruit Salad
There are some family costumes that will only work when your little one doesn’t have an opinion. Dressing up as a family fruit salad is likely one of them.

Baby pineapple + mama strawberry + daddy banana

2. Family in a Tub
Rub-a-dub-dub dress your family for the tub. My husband and I actually dressed up as soap and a loofah when I was 8 months pregnant with Charlie, and NO ONE knew I was pregnant! So not only is this outfit cute, but its great for covering up a bump.

3. DIY Family of Hippies
You know all of those tie dye shirts you made during quarantine? You now have a use for them! A DIY family hippie costume is so adorable and so easy to do. Your example shopping list awaits, but only purchase the things that you don’t already have!

Mama: 1. Sunglasses 2. Flower crown & peace sign jewelry 3. Crochet top 4. Bell bottoms

Dad: 1. Sunglasses + peace sign necklace 2. Headband with wig 3. Hippie Shirt (or tie dye shirt!) 4. Bell bottoms 5. Fringe vest

Baby Girl 1. Sunflower outfit 2. Flower crown

4. Wayne’s World
Party time! Excellent! This is a great costume and you most likely have most of these things around the house! Get the all of the details from (via A Beautiful Mess).

5. Lion Tamer Family
Nothing is cuter than a baby in a furry lion costume, so this costume seems like a no brainer. (via Costume Works)

6. The Very Hungry Caterpillar
This is one of our favorite books. Dress your little one as a cute little caterpillar, and the rest of the family can dress up as all different types of food from the book! (via Costume Works)

7. Mario Kart
There are so many great characters that you can choose from for this costume. It is definitely a fun one for the family. (via North Carolina Charm)

8. Farm Family
I 100 % will be dressing my child in a chicken costume. It is just too good! I’ll throw on some overalls, my husband will throw on some utters and we’ll be good to go! I felt like a cow while breastfeeding Charlie for 6 months, now it’s his turn! The chicken costume is an easy DIY from Martha Stewart. (via xoxo, Kat)

9. Grease Lightning
A mini T-Bird leather jacket or a tiny Pink Lady outfit would be so adorable for your little one. Mom and Dad dress as Sandy and Danny with things you already have in your closet, and you are good to go! (via Outfits and Outings)

10. Jurassic Park
This is such a cute and easy costume. Some khakis, button downs, bandanna and a hat for Mom and Dad, and the cutest little dinosaur outfit for the little one. I love this idea. (via Cupcakes & Cashmere)
